JW's believe that Jehovah created animals to be vegetarian (and perhaps also created meat eating scavengers to keep the earth clean?). They do not believe God CREATED animals that either eat living things or deliberately designed them to feed on the blood of living things. I want to hear pro-JW's explain how a bed bug comes to exist.
You will note on discussions like these that Creationists are pretty silent. Come on Creationist, let's hear it!

first of all i do not want to turn this into an american bashing thread, that is not my intention at all.. i would like to hear americans opinions as to what my thirteen year old son asked me tonight.. on the way back from swimming tonight my two sons (13 and 11) and myself started talking about wars.
my 11 year old was the first to bring it up talking about wwi & ww2.
we had an interesting conversation about it, then the subject got onto nuclear bombs.
1. Europe may well have lost without the US joining the war.
2. Germany would not have won the "conventional" war anyway - we would all be speaking Russian now :-)
3. Despite 2 above, there is compelling evidence that Germany was only 6 - 12 months from a nuclear weapon, and would have not hesitated to drop it on London & Washington etc. (so who would YOU have preferred to have developed nukes first?)
4. The war could have been ended by dropping one nuke on one uninhabited island. Dropping them on 2 inhabited cities was a totally, utterly, evil shitty, evil (did I mention evil?) thing to do.
Yes we won. Good. The Nazis were/are monsters (read how different are radical muslims?) However, it should and could have been done without the experiment to see what would be the short, medium and long term effects on the men, women, children, and future people (+ animals) of the cities attacked.
....like the one in myanmar now, will we not see the apocalyptic religions just explode in growth, including jw's?
even during relatively calm times, these groups can stir the 'sheep' to believe that the tribulation is just around the corner.

As to your shame at being involved can I point out 2 things: 1) They are a large, well financed efficient brain-washing organisation. 2) You were just a child.

As to being aimless about what to do with your life.... well, you'll just have learn who you are and what it is you want from life, and that just takes time.
